Enhancing Writing Through Technology (EWITT) is an intensive professional development program that will focus on improving student achievement in ELA by integrating technology into the English Language Arts curriculum. EWITT serves the goals of the Enhancing Education Through Technology theme, "Technology Infusion into Instruction through Professional Development," by empowering educators to engage students in interdisciplinary projects that develop writing, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. The EWITT program aims to train teachers to use technology as both an instructional tool to teach the writing process and as a way to reinforce fundamental ELA skills.
The ultimate goal of the EWITT Program is to improve academic performance in ELA by enhancing teachers' abilities to effectively infuse technology into their English Language Arts Instruction. The EWITT Program will use a technologically infused, project-based ELA curriculum to engage and focus students on an essential ELA skill - writing.
